BENEFICIARY:  Fynbos and Protea Industry

  1. To have identified all the major insect categories that should be considered for postharvest control to comply with export regulations from DAFF and also import regulations from phytosanitary markets.
  2. To know the effect the Controlled Atmosphere Temperature Treatment system (CATTS) treatments followed by simulated cold-storage shipping on the mortality of phytosanitary pests and fynbos cutflower projects’ quality.
  3. CATTS is a chemical-free new technology that combines heat and atmospheric stress, to control phytosanitary pests.
